| The greatest gift that a teacher can
receive is the knowledge that one of their students is implementing the
skills that are taught in the classroom. Brain Education(BE) offers a
fun, exciting way to teach children life skills that can be used inside
and outside of the classroom. Being a teacher is about much more than
just making sure that children know their ABC’s and 1-2-3’s. Teaching
is truly about scaffolding the growth of responsible, caring, confident
members of our community. The discussions and exercises that are
included within the BE curriculum help teachers give their children the
confidence to believe in themselves, push their own limits and work
together cooperatively. As a result of the BE lessons we do in class, I
have students telling each other to “trust their brains” and motivating
each other with encouraging words such as “you can do it!”. It is
amazing to see students participate with confidence and then instill
confidence in each other. BE has helped my class to build self-esteem,
healthy body awareness and a sense of caring community. It is
refreshing for me to know that my students can take and use this
information for the rest of their healthy, happy, power brain lives. Erica Spiezio – Elementary School Teacher, Long Island, NY

As a public school teacher who has worked in alternative middle and high schools, I have a lot of experience with wonderful young people who don't have confidence in themselves, let alone their scholastic ability. Their stress and challenges in merely attending school are emotionally overwhelming. What I see in BE is a way for students to avoid this fate. Students' learning efficacy can develop dramatically, which gives these beautiful young people the 'can do' attitude to make the best decisions for them throughout their life. Imagine, a world in which students are able to not just tap into their potential, but have learned to utilize their potential to manifest their dreams. | I participated in the Brain
Education program for teachers and shared in teaching a summer class for
2nd-8th grade students on Brain Education. The program was offered for
4 weeks, 4 hours each day of the week. These classed provided a
positive impact on both teachers and students. As the classes and days
progressed, participants seemed to interact with one another in a more
friendly, open, and accepting manner. The interactions became
increasingly more supportive rather than competitive. Learning how to
improve relaxation and focus seemed to permeate all activities. As the
classes progressed, it seemed that the participants gained a greater
self confidence and were able to increase their concentration time. As
we strive to improve ourselves or others, Brain Education seems to be
another option to add to our foundation. Sandy Pietrzyk – Middle School Teacher, Buffalo Grove, IL

Brain Education(BE) has fostered enthusiastic collaboration between our staff members. Teachers want to have lunch together to discuss program implementation. BE is spreading like wild fire at Public School 25K and ‘Power Brain’ is our new buzz word. We are so excited to be sending four teachers to the BE Leadership training to continue promoting health, happiness, peacefulness and achievement among our staff and students.

Personally I recommend this program to any school system. Based on my experience as Director of Pupil Personnel Services and a school principal, I know that our students in urban schools need to be engaged in the curricular activities and philosophy that BE offers in order to experience physical, academic and spiritual growth. I am pleased to see how this program is spreading throughout different districts of the New York City Department of Education and I would like to see more principals embracing this valuable program.
